Drain the Lake Wiki — Buckets, Tokens & Lake Mechanics
Drain the Lake wiki: bucket filling, draining for tokens, persistent gems, skill tree upgrades, badge milestones, and digging for the lost phone. Numbers only when dual-source verified.
Play on RobloxWhat is Drain the Lake?
Drain the Lake is an incremental Roblox simulator built around one absurd goal: empty a lake with buckets until you reach something buried at the bottom — a phone. Each run is about filling containers, converting drained water into tokens, buying skill tree upgrades, and pushing your dig depth further.
Core gameplay loop
- Fill your bucket at the lake surface
- Drain filled buckets to earn Tokens for the current run
- Spend Tokens on Skill Tree upgrades that boost drain speed, capacity, or depth
- Dig through lake layers to reach greater depth
- Keep progressing until you recover the lost phone
Gems vs Tokens
Drain the Lake splits progression across two currencies. Tokens are run-based — you earn them by draining buckets and they typically reset when a run ends, making them the currency for in-run Skill Tree purchases. Gems persist across runs and gate longer-term upgrades or meta purchases.
Buckets & draining
Your bucket defines how much water you can carry per trip and how efficiently you convert volume into tokens when draining. Better buckets mean fewer round trips and faster token income, which feeds the skill tree and depth push.
Badges & Ancient Bucket
Badges track milestone achievements during runs — depth reached, volume drained, or other challenge goals. Completing the full badge set is tied to unlocking an upgraded Ancient Bucket variant, but BloxAtlas only publishes exact badge counts and unlock rules after dual-source verification.
Lake depth & the phone
Lake depth is the main long-term gate. Skill tree upgrades and bucket improvements combine to let you drain faster and survive deeper layers. The phone sits at the end of that progression arc — the narrative hook that turns an idle drain loop into a dig to the bottom.
